The Supporters Club made history with a resounding win over Altrincham F C supporters at Ashley Cricket Club on Friday evening.

Although the wicket was fairly moist reflecting the weather earlier in the weak the sun made intermittent appearances between threatening black clouds and the rain was kept at bay.

Altrincham F C Supporters - 77 for 20 overs.

Sale Sharks Supporters - 78 for 10 overs.

In particular, Paul Garnett and Alex Read once again both displayed their outstanding skills with the bat!

An enthusiastic team of SSSC spectators also enjoyed the delights of a selection of 10 real ales and 4 uniquely different ciders!

For the third year running a most enjoyable evening was had by all!

An evening of traditional Maldovan festivities! Not to be missed! A tribute to Vadim who will be leaving us for Bordeaux at the end of the season....

We couldn't let him go without a farewell party!

Irina has arranged for a traditional Moldovan band for our entertainment who are well known in Moldovia. There will also be a Moldovan themed short quiz with Moldovan wine for the winner!

The star attraction of the evening’s entertainment will be Moldovan Jazz singer Geta Burlacu who was placed 12th in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest with the song ‘A Century of Love’

This is by far the biggest act ever booking by the SSSC… actually, come to think of it she is the only act we’ve ever booked!  :-)

You can read up on her career HERE and relive that magic night in Helsinki HERE… We're not sure if she’ll bring her teddy bear?

The evening will include a

An evening with Peter Allan

Scottish IRB International and Premiership Rugby Touch Judge

SSSC Members - FREE        U17s - FREE         Non-members - £3

Join the SSSC on the evening for £10, valid for 12 months from date of joining.

Our March social sees the return of the very popular meet the rugby official evening. Peter Allan will be available to answer all your questions about the rules and the issues of the moment. Do you have any questions about the rules or would you like an official's take on some of the latest issues or rule changes? How did the officials do in the recent 6 Nations? What is the relationship like between a referee and his touch judges?

With many years on the international circuit Peter has plenty of interesting stories and anecdotes but you’ll also be able to find out how he felt when he made THAT mistake back in 2011 during the Wales v Ireland 6 Nations match! You know the one; tight game, ball kicked into touch and lands in the crowd, ball boy throws a different ball to the Welsh player who takes a quick line out and Mike Phillips runs up the field and scores. Everyone on TV saw that it was the wrong ball but when referee Kaplan asked Peter ‘was it the same ball’ he answered ‘yes’ and the try was awarded! Just how do you get over a mistake like that?

13th December 2015

By popular request we again held another 'Question of Sharks' social evening at Heywood Road on Tuesday, 19th January 2016.

There were 48 present at the event including two teams of 4 Sale Sharks Players & 4 Sale Sharks Supporters answering sporting questions and performing practical challenges. Despite the players winning all 4 challenge rounds the supporters team triumphed 44 points to 37.

Everyone had a most enjoyable evening and thanks to both teams for being such great sports!

Le Bistrot  des Saveurs’

The SSSC are delighted to invite travelling fans to our December social event  in Castres; an evening of exquisite dining, fine wine and rugby camaraderie at the Michelin Star restaurant, 'Le Bistrot des Saveurs' in Castres on Sunday 13th December, 7pm meet for 7.30 sitting.

'Le Bistrot des Saveurs' gets terrific reviews befitting its Michelin star rating and has the added quirkiness of being run by Englishman Simon Scott, a former head chef at the Savoy in London who I believe to be the only Englishman living in France to hold a Michelin star in the fiercely partisan world of French cuisine. Rugby fan Simon and his wife Marie-Hélène will be opening the restaurant especially for us as they are normally closed on a Sunday. For those of you who haven't travelled to Europe with Sale before, with the unpredictability of performances on the pitch over the years, the SSSC dinner is quite often the highlight of the trip

Bon appétit!
