| SSSC news: A mo for Hambo |
"Matt Hampson is now known all over the country as the inspirational figure who has given hope to people going through a rough period in their lives, the guy who got injured but wouldn't take it lying down."
During the month of November many Guinness premiership players, including Sale Sharks players, grew moustaches as part of the "Grow a 'mo' for Hambo" campaign and gave a £5 donation. Now it's our turn.
The Sale Sharks Supporters Club with the help of the Leicester Tigers Supporters Club will be providing false moustaches at our game against Leicester Tigers at Edgeley Park next Sunday. Our aim is to have as many people as possible sporting a Mo for Hambo. As this game is live on Sky TV this will be a great opportunity to promote Matt's cause.
You can make your £5 donation on line now by clicking the button below, and collect your moustache from the Supporters Club table on the day (bring your paypal receipt with you) or you can donate on the day.
If you are a business (or just very generous) you can also help by sponsoring this event - if you would like to help us buy even more moustaches please email chairman@salesupporters.co.uk or ring 07702 911264 for more details on how you can help.

Ideal for the Xmas period when the TV is rubbish and there is no rugby to watch. Might even keep the kids quiet trying to 'Google' the answers. Prizes to be advised on this site.

| SSSC news: Announcement |
The SSSC Committee have now agreed that we will no longer provide food at our future functions unless the occasion warrants it. We were under the impression that members wanted refreshments following comments after the French Night last season, and we'd hoped that the provision of food might've attracted greater numbers to our events. Unfortunately this didn't happen and, if anything, numbers have dwindled.
On a separate note we are longer in a position to hold this month's Scottish Night which we'd planned and booked for 27 th November. Unfortunately the Club have decided to host a concurrent event - a World Cup Coming Home Party - the day after, which therefore limits player availability, and we have been unsuccessful in our plans to hold an alternative function.
We'd hoped to present the SSSC's donation to the Wooden Spoon Society at the November evening but will now have to look to do this at a future event. We apologise to anyone who had looked forward to the Scottish Night, and we're hoping to arrange another supporters' evening in January. Further details to follow. |

| Sharks
news: The ink is dry |
| The
season
starts now! Following a long quiet summer new came in over night
that Sale have signed top flight All Black 10 Luke McAlister.
The move was expected, but supporters have been left in limbo,
worrying that the deal migt never come off.
"Luke
is one of the best young players in world rugby, and can play
either 10, 12 or 13," said Sharks rugby director Philippe
Saint-Andre.
"With
Charlie Hodgson and Luke in the side, we have two fantastic
playmakers, and his signing is exactly the signing I have
been trying to make to help us become a dominant force in
northern hemisphere rugby.
"It
is great news for the supporters, who are only too well aware
that our chances of competing for honours last season were
badly hit when Charlie was injured.
"With
Luke's signing, he can cover for Charlie when he is on England
duty."
This
is fantastic news for all Sale Supporters and adds to the
report of other signings below.
|
| Offseason
Report |
|
Well,
the Sharks had a pretty tough time of it in the 2006/2007
season, nobody will deny that. Injury ran rampant through
the squad all through the season, morale dropped, fortress
Edgeley began to be seen as the place to go for easy away
points.
Let
us not forget, however, that the Sharks were champions all
season long. Let us not forget that come the new season the
Sharks will be back to full strength. Let nobody write off
the Sharks.
Next
season Sale Supporters will be seeing a slightly different
squd lining up, and there can be no doubt that favourites
such as Andy Titterell and Barry Stewart will be sorley missed.
Jason Robinson will be irreplaceable. The SSSC would like
to extend a fond farewell to all the departing Sharks: Mark
Taylor, Daniel Larrechea, Jason Robinson, Barry Stewart, Andy
Titterell.
However,
just as what goes up must come down, so those departures mean
there will be some new Sharks: Julien Laharrague has extended
his three month stay to a full contract for next year; and
Scott Lawson and Rory Lamont join us. Two more recent signings
are Rudi Keil, the South African Centre, and Benoit Bourrust,
the French Prop Forward.
Back
too are the European Challenge Cup and the World Cup, which
will mean a host of Sharks will travel throughout Europe.
The
Management at Edgeley Park are taking a closer interest in
the SSSC, and in supporters in general and we feel that next
season will be a much more pleasant experience for all concerned.
Inside
Sharks, the excellent new Sharks magazine has been published
and for those yet to experience it, it is available to purchase
at the Sale Sharks website. Go on. You know you want a copy.
