The Sale Sharks Supporters Club was formed at the beginning of the 2004 season. Although it is completely independent it enjoys an amicable working relationship with Sale Sharks who give us their full backing. Since its launch as an independent supporters club at the start of last season membership has grown steadily and there are now over 400 members. The committee has been working on a variety of things. The Club holds very successful social evenings. Also it is now arranging very popular away travel. More on social and travel plans can be found below. The
Supporters Club has introduced a 201 Club as
a means of raising funds. Please subscribe to this as it will help with
the Club's overheads and assist with the arranging of away travel. As well as the social side of the Club, the committee also liaises closely with Sale Sharks with regards to issues and concerns raised by supporters. These include car parking, stewarding, bar facilities, catering and many more. If you have any issues please contact us and we will raise with the appropriate people. Membership is £10 per year and there is no fee for children under 16. This membership will entitle you to book away travel, attend the regular social evenings which are also attended by the players, and guarantee your invitation to any more formal events organised by the club. This will include the annual dinner where the Player of the Year and Hall of Fame awards are presented. Thank you in anticipation of your support for these initiatives. TRAVEL The Supporters Club are now successfully running coaches to all league away matches (not friendlies or away European games). Details of the times and pick up points and how to book are posted on the messageboard on www.salerugby.co.uk and also on this site. The cost for supporters club members is £20 per coach although as we become more popular this may well decrease. Where practical departure time is early enough to allow for a stop at a country pub. This has proved very popular, as has the breakfast of Bucks Fizz and croissants. You are also permitted to bring and consume your own alcohol if you wish. The Supporters Club have an allocation of away tickets and details of how to book these can be found on the above websites. You do not have to travel on the coach to get an away ticket. SOCIAL The social events being organised are proving very popular with attendance running at 50 plus. A variety of Q&A sessions, quizzes and games are held at these events and normally a number of the players, backroom staff and management also attend. It is a great opportunity to socialise with your fellow supporters and to meet the players. Do come along! Details of social events past and present should be found on the social events page.
