SALE SHARKS 30 - Perpignan 7 IIn the first of two French pre-season friendlies Sale dominated the match. Perpignan were rumoured to have been unbeaten at home in any game for three years, but an experimental Sharks team destroyed them. Perpignan fans were awed by the strength of the Sale defense and pack, whilst the traveling fans were treated to a rollicking display of classic Sharks rugby. First over the line was the shock of blond hair that is Magnus Lund. New boy Valentin Courrent complemented this with a conversion and two penalties in the first half. Good to have another kicker on board PSA, thanks for that! The second half saw another new boy score his first Sharks points when Nick Wakeley touched down, followed by my tip for "Most influential player for the 2005-6 season" Ignacio Fernandez Lobbe. Both of these were converted by our second new kicker, Daniel Larrechaea, who also dropped a goal. All in all - the campaign couldn't have started better. Points
